Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED)

The CED or Centre for Entrepreneurship Development is a private sector development unit designed to assist Nigerians to start new businesses, expand and diversify existing ones.

Assistance is provided in the areas of entrepreneurship training, business consulting, extension services, research, information gathering and dissemination, production processes, loan packaging, etc.

The Centre facilitates the implementation of the entrepreneurship education in the curricula of All National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in the College. The Centre is also involved in research, consultancy, programme development and skill acquisitions for prospective entrepreneurs.

The centre is dedicated to the development of Nigerian entrepreneurs in order to enhance their contribution to a sustainable private sector driven economy. We partner with public and private organizations and assist the government in the development of policies and programmes for the promotion of small and medium scale enterprises. We also provide training as well as management and technical consulting services to new and existing entrepreneurs.

Global Entrepreneurship Week 2015

The annual Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2015, anchored by the Center for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) was organized in the College from November 12 – 17, 2016. The week started with an awareness tour within the College. A lecture and award ceremony was also held. Cash prizes were given to the winners of the 1st Business Plan Competition organized during the week.
Exhibition of students’ projects and products was done throughout the week, which was also available for sale.

YCT celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week 2016

The Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2016, an annual event to raise awareness and celebrate entrepreneurship globally took place from 14th - 18th November 2016 at Yaba College of Technology. The Center for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), Yaba College of Technology with collaboration from the UNEVOC Center organized the weeklong event. An awareness rally kicked off the week on 14th of November and Deputy Rector (Academics) of the College Dr.(Mrs.) O. T. Oyelola declared the exhibition ground opened.
